15. Tour "Belarus. Meeting with a great poet"

Tour "Meeting with a great poet"
Itinerary: MINSK - VYAZYNKA - OKOPY - KHORUZHENTSY
Duration: 2 or 3 days

This route includes sightseeing tour of one of the most beautiful European cities - Minsk. Founded more than 900 years ago, nowadays Minsk is the largest industrial and cultural center of Belarus.

There are three historical-architecture zones in the city: the zone of old or upper town, where partially city planning and building of XVII- the beginning of XIX century have survived; the zone of Troitsky and Rakovsky Predmestye (Trinity Suburbs). The site of the old Minsk castle is an archeological preserve.

You will see Cathedral of the Holy Spirit and Sts. Peter and Paul Church; the 19th cent. Troitskoye Predmestye (Trinity Suburb) - an example of Minsk urban architecture of the previous century; Independence Square with its Government Building (1929-33) and Red (Krasny) Roman Catholic Church of the early 20th cent.; Victory Square with its 38 meters obelisk and the Eternal Flame commemorating the heroes of World War II; parks and modern architectural ensembles.

Those, who have visited Minsk for the first time, are impressed by the thought-out system of planting of greenery. The shank of this system is the Svisloch River and its green banks.

Then you will visit Molodechno district. The district is famous for its reserve-memorial "Vyazynka" in the village of Vyazynka, where an eminent Belarusian poet Yanka Kupala was born. The hut, where the Belarusian classic had been living, survived.
